WEDDING BLOCK HOTELS
August 30th Update: We recently added a wedding block at a 3rd hotel (see below). For Hyatt Place you will need to book by 9/2, and for Holiday Inn Express you will need to book by 9/12, in order to get the discount wedding block rates & before all unbooked rooms are released to the general public. Please note that the hotels have informed us that they are sold out beyond our reserved rooms due to 5 weddings taking place the same weekend.
1) The Hancock House Bed and Breakfast - Gallatin, TN
FULL (Susan's brothers and Lucy's friends booked it)
We reserved all 5 rooms at the historic Hancock House B&B for our guests. When you speak to Roberta Hancock, simply reference Lucy Sweeney (Susan's mom's maiden name), Alan Seutter, or Susan Tiedemann. This would be a great choice for a group of friends or a group of family members to stay and enjoy the very large breakfasts included and catch up around a fireplace in one of the many beautiful common areas full of charm and character.
Rooms are $81-$112 a night (10% off the advertised rates when booking under our wedding block). The main beds in each room have twin beds tucked away underneath - perfect for children or additional guests. Please note that at least one room - the "bridal suite" - only has a bath, no shower.
Conveniently located approximately halfway between the rehearsal dinner (2.8 miles) and the wedding ceremony and reception site (3.1 miles)!
2) Hyatt Place Nashville Northeast (misnomer - it's really in Hendersonville, TN)
As of 8/29, 1 king and 3 doubles still available for Friday and 1 double left for Saturday. We've heard that some people have had trouble booking here and were told that it was full or that our wedding block did not exist. We apologize for the trouble and believe we have resolved it so feel free to try again. *Rebecca Vanderpool provided us with her direct line for issue-free reservations: (615) 991-9871. Alternatively, you may email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. I've also heard that booking online was issue-free. Please remember that no matter how you reserve your room, the wedding block is under the code below, and not our names.
Keeping in mind that some guests may want to stay a wee bit closer to downtown Nashville, we reserved a block of rooms for our guests here (1 king bed or 2 double beds). Both types of rooms have sleeper sofas, an efficiency kitchen, and a desk.
When booking your room by phone or online, simply reference or enter group code G-TSWB for the $109 rate that applies to both the double and king rooms.
There's an indoor gym, on-site cafe serving Starbucks, and a complimentary, full breakfast buffet is included. Shops, restaurants, and a movie theater are all close by. Rooms will be held for wedding guests to reserve until 30 days before the wedding, then they will be released to the general public.
Just 1.3 miles from the rehearsal dinner, and 7.2 miles from the wedding. 18-19 miles from downtown Nashville.
3) Holiday Inn Express Nashville-Hendersonville (near the rehearsal dinner)
888-465-4329 or (615) 824-0022)
0.4 miles from the rehearsal dinner and 5.5 miles from the wedding. No reservation code - just mention Tiedemann/Seutter wedding for the $94 wedding block rate.
OTHER HOTEL IDEAS (no wedding blocks*)
Hampton Inn - Gallatin, TN (near the wedding)
3 miles from the wedding in Village Green Crossing - a small restaurant complex (Cracker Barrel, Zaxby's, O'Charley's, etc.). If you plan on checking out Nashville, this is the furthest away of all the hotel options mentioned (30-40 min drive). Unfortunately, this hotel is not on the trolley route.
Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center - Nashville, TN (near the airport)
This hotel is located between the wedding and the airport but closer to the airport (24 miles/30 min to the wedding, 8.5 miles/12 min to the airport). Even if you don't want to stay here, it is worth checking out on your way in or out for the wedding weekend since you will pass it going to and from the airport. It has 9 acres of indoor gardens under glass atriums with waterfalls, a river, a Delta flatboat, shops, restaurants, and walking paths. It is also within walking distance of the (new) Grand Ole Opry and a massive shopping complex. We love taking out of town guests to see this neat place, especially when it is decorated for the holidays.
Hermitage Hotel - Nashville, TN (downtown)
Traditional southern, five-star luxury in the center of downtown.
Union Station Hotel - Nashville, TN (downtown)
Modern, boutique hotel in an historic train station.
The Hancock House B&B

Hyatt Place Nashville Northeast

Hendersonville, TN 37075
Holiday Inn Express Nashville-Hendersonville
615 East Main St.
Hendersonville, TN 37075
Airport: BNA (Nashville)
Approximate driving distances and times from the airport to:
Hyatt - 22 miles/30 min
Hancock House - 28 miles/30 min
Rehearsal Dinner - 23 miles/32 min
Wedding - 30 miles/35 min
downtown Nashville - 9 miles/13 minutes
Transportation from the Airport: www.supershuttle.com (whoops - Susan just tried to use this service in May and it doesn't go as far out as Gallatin - but if you're staying in Nashville it should still work)
Susan rents cars at BNA through Priceline and Hotwire for as low as $8-13/day (her most recent such rental was May 2013).
Transportation to and from the wedding (from wedding block hotels) will be provided. We're excited about the music-playing party trolley we booked to make sure you can party it up and still get home safely at the end of the night.
